The database from which this track was sourced is very rudimentary, with some of the data incomplete and it seems as if LINZ has abandoned updating it. I have no idea whether this track is a mountain bike track, hiking trail, or any other kind of trail. Some sources, particularly DOC, do not give the name of the actual track, but rather sections of the track, such as Track- East Ruggedy Hut to Hellfire Pass, without mentioning that it is part of the North West Circuit Track. Hence, many of the tracks listed on this site are only partial tracks, unless they have been sourced from LINZ.
To change the map to either a topographical map of the Heaphy Track, a street map, or a satellite map, click on the icon on the right side of the map. You can also choose to hide the track layer or show DOC huts.
To download the map click on the icon on the left side. This may take a while, as the map can be up to 100MB in size, depending on the scale you choose, so it may take a while to process. If you don't want the red line that indicates the 'Heaphy Track' shown on the downloaded map, click on the layer icon as indicated above and disable it.

Click on the KML/GPX/TXC to download the route, KMLif you want to view in Google Earth. I have limited this to 10 downloads per user per day to prevent web scraping.
map/heaphy-track-map-7015.pngThis is an example of a downloadeded map at a scale of 1 without zooming in or out, as the map is displayed when you first came to this page. So you may need to zoom in and then adjust the scale accordingly if you want to be able to print it.
