Hi!

I would really like to do some hiking in New Zealand and I was considering going during your winter, jul-aug.
I will most likely be going solo and don't have all that much experience in hiking to begin with. What I'm wondering is if it would be a good choice going there at that time?

Do people hike at that time or am I gonna be all alone in the tracks? Is cold gonna be a big issuse and will I be able to cross rivers or alot of rain without freezing my ass off? Razz

Thanks for any replies!

Hi Zeb - I wouldn't recommend hiking in New Zealand by yourself at this time of year...the weather is very changeable and you'll need to carry ALOT of stuff to be prepared...

Hook up with a trekking tour...it's the safest way to go...
