Hi there, my family and I are moving to Auckland some time in August this year. I have 3 girls ages between 10 and 5 and I was wondering if anybody could give me some ideas on where would be a good place to live around Auckland. My partner will be working near Queens Street and therefore we need to be within easy access of the City however as rent is so high we will need to look around and see whats avaliable. maybe someone has tips as to where would be a good place to live which is reasonably priced and near to shops and schools perhaps there is someone who like us has children and would perhaps like to get to know each other any information on Auckland would be a bonus for me as I have never been to NZ. so this will be a big step for me and my kids. all help advice greatly received. |

Hi annkara, rent has skyrocketed since I lived in Auckland. I lived out around one tree hill for a while and it wasn't a bad suburb as is Mt Eden.
If you want to get lots of advice and where is safe for your kids etc, try the forums at trademe, it will cost you $10 NZ to join this auction site but it is worth it if you plan on buying online in NZ.

Thankyou Garry for taking the time to reply. I will visit the site you suggested, also do you know if there are sites where any NZ migrants chat, as it would be good to get to chat with people that are living there aswell. |
