I am interested in hiking what's called the te araroa trail that covers almost the entire distance of New Zealand. It is made up of many trails put together, but you can hike almost the entire length of both islands. The trek would take around 5 months for both islands, or half of that for one. If anyone is interested let me know. the timing of this trip is very flexible. probably taking place mostly during the new zealand summer months.
