Hey all-
I am a student here in the US and i will be moving to NZ in June to study for a semester. (and i am totally stoked). Im planning on doing a massive backpacking trip around the south island, and i was wondering if anyone had an idea of how long it would take. I am an expierenced backpacker, but i am unfarmiliar with the distance and the terrain and could use some help. I would like to do just top to bottom, or bottom to top, or something of that sort. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the help
Im gonna re-phrase it a bit. Im probably no gonna have time to do the whole south Island, im gonna have about 35 days, maybe 40, and i want to see as much as i can. With that in mind, can you reccomend the best way for me to spend my hiking time? Im in good shape, and can hike a pretty long distance each day, so keep that in mind. Any ideas? |
