Hi Gang: I am visiting NZ for the first time from mid-February to mid-April and plan on hiking many of the major trails. There will be times when I would like to store some/all of my gear so I don't have to lug a 25kg backpack everywhere I go, especially while visiting towns or taking shorter day hikes. Any suggestions or comments from those that have done this before? I assume the hostels have secure storage and maybe the huts or visitor centers at some of the more popular walks? Sincerely, Kyle

Hi Kyle, yes most hostels will store gear for you, usually on the condition that you return for a night. Some info centres/doc centres will also store gear.
