Waihau

Waihau is a tiny, little town with a lot of character. The old postoffice has been converted into the local dairy and on school holidays you'll see local Maori children having a whale of a time jumping off the old wharf. At the time of writing (Nov 2004) the hotel and camping ground in front of the bay were being refurbished.
